QUEEN
ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK SAFARI
Famous for the tree climbing lions
as well as the Uganda Kob, other Antelope
species, Elephants, Baboons, Hippos,
Buffalos, Chimps and many more, Queen
Elizabeth National Park is situated
south of the Ruwenzori Mountains and
is an eco-system intersected by wetlands
and open savannah areas. With over
606 bird species, hence species of
birds like the Black Bee Eater, 11
types of the Kingfisher, and several
species of Falcons, Eagles and the
Raptors having been recorded, the
park is a magnet for bird watchers.
The Park borders the lakes Edward
and Gorge which are connected by the
hippo crowded banks of the Kazinga
Channel, endowed with the Maramagambo
forest, a home to an alluring selection
of forest monkeys and birds, and flocks
of flamingos resident on the crater
lakes; offers a diversity of long
to short nature walks in which bird
watchers will take their share and
by the Kyambura Gorge where one can
go for chimpanzee tracking. With its
diverse flora and fauna, the park
is supplemented by the Katwe salt
area, a traditional salt mining area
since the 14th Century of which one
shouldn’t miss visiting.
Ultimately it being the park boosting
one of the highest biodiversity ratings
of any game reserve in the world(approximately
100 mammal species, numerous birds
and a wide range of flora, QENP will
give one a unique unrivaled wildlife
experience!
Day one:
Depart from Kampala in the morning
towards the west through outstanding
hill county and flourishing cultivation.
Make a stop over at the equator for
photographs; proceed to Mbarara Town
for lunch. The drive en-route may
be rewarded with Zebras and a variety
of Antelope species especially the
area bordering the L. Mburo National
Park
Enjoy a short game drive as you enter
the famous Queen Elizabeth National
Park to the lodge. Arrive at the Lodging
facility of one’s choice late
afternoon and check in
An evening game drive to wrap up the
day will yield sights of most of the
animals coming out of the bushes to
graze and hunt prey
Spend the afternoon relaxing at the
Lodge which is beautifully situated
on a bluff overlooking the Kazinga-Channel
and Lake Edward, dinner then overnight.

lodge and camping grounds.
Day two:
After breakfast, drive to 16 km long,
100 meter deep Gorge of Kyambura which
is situated on the Rift Valley for
a guided forest walk in search for
the habituated chimpanzees and other
primates. This will involve some hiking
and climbing. In this well-preserved
environment you will have a splendid
view of birds and butterflies and
some primates. Return to the lodge
for lunch After lunch, take the launch
trip up Kazinga Channel and watch
as the different species of game emerge
from the woodland to the waters as
well as those ‘sunbathing’
and cooling off in the waters.
After the launch cruise, drive back
to the Lodge and enjoy the evening
by possibly taking a late swim or
last rays of the Ugandan Sun.
Have dinner and stay overnight at
the lodge.
Day three:
Another early morning and last game
drive is rewarding yielding sights
of animals like Elephants, Buffaloes,
Lions, Kobs, Waterbuck, and if you
are lucky the shy Leopard and Spotted
Hyena and also tour the volcanic area
of the park with its stunning salt
lakes and extinct crater lakes.. Come
back to the lodge for breakfast and
check out. Lunch en-route and then
return to Kampala by early evening.
N.B: Don’t forget to bring
along Binoculars, a camera, swimming
gear and light clothing
