WELCOME
TO UGANDA
Uganda is one of the most panoramic, tropical countries
in Africa. Uganda is located on the northern shores
of Lake Victoria right in the heart of Africa. Uganda
is an attraction to many, because it harbors the Great
Nile, which roars quietly from the waters of Lake Victoria
and a beautiful tropical weather all year round to mention
just a few.
Uganda boasts of a variety of Tourist attractions in
form of geographical, flora, fauna, and socio- cultural
and religious. Uganda has: Panoramic geographical scenery
in form of Rift valley features, highlands, mountains,
rivers, lakes, forests, wildlife, and volcanoes rarely
found in other parts of the world. The diverse cultural
heritage and back ground of Uganda is quite phenomenal
and very educative. Uganda, in an ecological nutshell,
is where the eastern savannah meets the West African
jungle and it really offers visitors the best of both
fantastic worlds.
Uganda’s natural attractions far exceed the opportunity
to just see the gorillas, lions, elephants and so on;
as quoted by Winston Churchill, 1908 that “Uganda
is a fairy tale. You climb up a railway instead of a
bean stalk and at the top there is a wonderful new world.
The scenery is different, and most of all, the people
are different from anywhere else in Africa.” And
it is certainly true that of all Africa’s reasonably
established safari destinations, Uganda is the most
green, the most fertile-the most overwhelmingly tropical
as quoted by Philip Briggs, Uganda; THE BRADT TRAVEL
GUIDE-Fourth Edition.
Just like Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania have a lot to offer
in tourism especially, the protected areas, the coastal
areas and the cultural and religious heritage.
